Cocktails N’ Dreams (established in 2011) strives to become the premier Bartending School of North County San Diego. Our mission is to be a step ahead of our competitors. We want our students to have fun during their class time to reproduce that in the actual work place. We combine educations,atmosphere,work ethics and professionalism in order to reach our goal of over-all value in a simulated bar experience. We have a goal in mind of expanding the independently owned school located in Oceanside CA to additional locations around Southern California. We offer an open line of communication with instructors and staff via email, school and personal phone lines. Our key to success is educator quality. Our beginnings
Harlo “Hos” Stompro has an extensive history in the bar/restaurant industry. At the age of 19 he landed his first food handling position as a server in a Denny’s chain. After serving at several nice restaurants including the Hungry Hunter Scotia Inn. Working various shifts and noticing that the income wasn’t sufficient enough at the end of the month he decided to take a friends advice and start working at The Park Plaza Hotel Bar. There he worked behind the bar as well as in the catering department. Following that job he worked at Rickey’s Raiderland in San Leandro, CA. He worked at the Raider Bar under busy conditions for three years working all the Raider games and major fights. This Bar got him use to Bartending in fast paced conditions. From there Hos moved to Arcata in Northern CA where he worked at the Tomo Cafe, a venue that had the hottest concerts in town. He was also doing on/off the premises Catered Bartending for an Italian fine dinning restaurant named Aburuzzi. His next position was at a Masonic Hall names The Carson Manson. Harlo moved to San Luis Obispo, CA in 2002 where he worked for ASH Management Co., which owns several bars in CA. Moving on from there Hos worked at O’gradys Irish Pub; a high energy, fast paced bar with great local crowds. Bulls (a country bar) known for making the strongest drinks in town it was a San Luis Obispo Tradition and was usually busy with regulars as well as tourist. More than four years after starting his career as a bartender Harlo would fill in at Mcarthy’s Irish Pub and bartend at The Library. All of these bars are owned by ASH Management based in San Luis Obispo, CA. Harlo’s next move was to Santa Barbara in 2006 Where he was a resident bartender at a busy and popular EOS Night Club. Also working as a resident bartender at the Sandbar on the well known State Street in Santa Barbara. Harlo’s final position as a working bartender was located at Brewski’s in Mira Mesa whose main clientele consisted of Military, with its most activity on Friday and Saturday nights.
